August’s breakfast meeting saw Seaford Chamber members convene at the exquisite Rathfinny Wine Estate, located just south of Alfriston. Renowned for their sparkling wines, the magnificently refurbished Winery barn added an extra sparkle to this breakfast meeting with its bespoke décor and beautiful views over a portion of the 40+ hectare vineyard and the South Downs beyond.
10 minute presentation
Our sincere thanks go to Richard James, Environmental & Operations Manager at the estate, who kindly provided this month’s 10-minute presentation which was highly captivating and informing as to the sheer effort required to maintain and operate an estate of Rathfinny’s proportions. From the miles of cable required for the vines, to the thousands of seeds planted in the wildflower borders, the scale of the figures presented was astounding and a testament to the commitment of the current owners Mark & Sarah Driver. It is this commitment and clear vision that helps drive businesses forward and grow, and Rathfinny’s tale highlighted how managing this effectively can bring great success; we’re confident that all members in attendance took something positive away from it (albeit not including any wine, sadly).
Inspired by the talk and the surroundings (and not forgetting the delicious breakfast), we’re confident that this breakfast meeting was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all of our members in attendance, and we hope to see any new prospective members, who attended this month’s meeting, at the next meeting at the Seaford Head Golf Club on September 1st.
