At our April breakfast meeting this morning we were pleased to welcome Mike Shorer, President of the Newhaven Chamber of Commerce who gave a short talk about the Inter-Chamber Kart Racing Competition that they are organising and inviting Seaford Chamber to enter a team to take part in the race. The race will be at a new race track at Albourne, Mid Sussex and will have 12 teams of 4 drivers with 2 hours of driving per driver. The karts have automated timers giving individual drivers their lap times. Seaford won the first year’s competition, we hope we can win it again this year.
We had a guest this morning, Simon Bates of Artifex Investigations Ltd and hope that he will become a full member of Seaford Chamber.
Our Guest Speaker this morning was Philippa Davis of Seaford and Bishopstone Neighbourhood Watch Association and Vice Chair for East Sussex Neighbourhood Watch. Philippa gave a very interesting talk on how to be good neighbours, have safer communities, shifting perceptions, including the fact that anti-social behaviour has been reduced in the area. They will be holding this year’s Expo event on 23rd May and look forward to it being fully supported.
The next meeting of Seaford Chamber will be the AGM on 2nd May 2019.
